About the Walls Course: Like A Deceitful Brook ‘Will you indeed be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail and are uncertain?’ (Jeremiah 15:18 AMPC) Hold up, did Prophet Jeremiah low key call my Lord a liar? In his defense he did say ‘like’ We’ve all had moments like that if we are being honest, where we know that we love God and He loves us but some parts of our journey just don’t add up. Like Jeremiah we can list all the ways where we have been faithful to God or at least not that bad lol but it doesn’t seem like we have received what we deserved. Even still, it seems like those who are doing the worst are getting ahead. God are You seeing this? Here are some things I want you to see from Jeremiah’s encounter with God: 1. Jeremiah was a prophet: His job description was to hear from God on the regular, yet he still had questions. 2. He was able to honestly articulate those questions 3. God did not strike him with thunder, shout on him, slap him or call him stupid for asking his honest questions 4. God answered him. God replied his questions God identified to Jeremiah that at the root of all the questions was mistrust and despair (Jeremiah 15:19). He offered him a settled place amongst other things which we will discuss next week. Isn’t that what we all want? To feel settled? To feel like we can rest on all sides? I’m looking forward to seeing you on the course. This course is going to bring a perspective shift and bring us into the intimacy with God that we desire. Great news is that He wants it as much as we do, even more.
